HALL OF FAME PROCESS
A TRANSPARENT, RESPECTFUL & ACCOUNTABLE PATH TO RECOGNITION
The AMAC Hall of Fame process is designed to recognise significant contribution while maintaining fairness, confidentiality and appropriate governance.
Every nomination is considered on its own merits and supported by available evidence.
1 - NOMINATE
Any person who wishes to put forward a worthy martial artist may submit a nomination. Nominators are encouraged to provide detailed information and supporting evidence.
2 - INITIAL REVIEW
AMAC reviews each nomination for completeness and eligibility before it proceeds to formal assessment. Additional information may be sought where required.
3 - COMMITTEE ASSESSMENT
Eligible nominations are assessed against the seven Hall of Fame criteria. Committee members consider the evidence, score each criterion, provide comments and disclose any actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest.
4 - EXECUTIVE CONSIDERATION
Committee assessments and recommendations are considered by the AMAC Executive. Matters requiring further review or special consideration are referred to the Executive.
5 - FINAL DECISION & RECOGNITION
The AMAC Executive makes the final decision. Approved inductees are formally recognised through the AMAC Hall of Fame and associated recognition activities.
THE DECISION-MAKING FRAMEWORK
The AMAC Hall of Fame process separates assessment from final decision-making. This provides a clear governance structure and ensures that Committee members can provide an independent assessment based on the evidence available.
THE COMMITTEE ASSESSES.
THE AMAC EXECUTIVE DECIDES.
The Committee's role is to assess eligible nominations against the Hall of Fame criteria, consider the available evidence, provide supporting comments and make a recommendation.
A Committee recommendation does not itself constitute induction. The AMAC Executive considers the complete assessment, evidence, recommendation and any matters requiring further review or special consideration before making the final decision.
CONFIDENTIALITY & FAIR CONSIDERATION
Nomination and assessment information is treated with appropriate confidentiality throughout the Hall of Fame process.
Committee members are required to disclose any actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest concerning a nominee. Where appropriate, a Committee member may be excluded from assessing a particular nomination.
Committee members are also required to assess nominations consistently with the Hall of Fame criteria and to base their assessment on the information and evidence available.
FURTHER REVIEW & SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
Where a Committee identifies a need for further evidence, clarification or special consideration, the matter may be referred to the AMAC Executive before a final decision is made.
This ensures that matters requiring additional consideration can be addressed without compromising the integrity or transparency of the Hall of Fame process.
RECOGNITION & INDUCTION
Those approved for induction will be formally recognised as members of the AMAC Hall of Fame.
Recognition is intended to honour not only achievement, but the broader contribution an individual has made to Australian Martial Arts — including leadership, teaching, service, mentorship, development and lasting legacy.
Inductees become part of the continuing history of the AMAC Hall of Fame and the wider Australian Martial Arts community.
